Press keys together or in sequence to type a character, a word or a whole phrase.
Choose letters to work on. Practice them in local sentences, with suggestions based on the letters you find difficult.
The native iPhone keyboard extension works in supported iOS text fields. Secure fields and apps that reject keyboard extensions can use Apple’s keyboard instead. TachyType cannot observe typing through other keyboards.
Your layouts, learned words, typing history and practice analytics stay on device. The keyboard extension makes no network calls. Local correction and selected-letter practice work without cloud AI.
iOS requires Full Access for the extension to write to the shared local storage used by the app. TachyType uses this for local layout and history sharing. Without it, the extension can still type, but custom layouts and history cannot be shared with the app. The extension does not use Full Access to make network calls.
Yes, separately in the app. Cloud AI is off by default. If you enable it and choose an AI action, only the text you explicitly submit or the selected practice keys are sent through a private relay for rewriting, correction review or passage generation. Your typing history is not automatically uploaded. Provider handling applies to submitted content; this is separate from the offline keyboard.
Press and hold space to turn the typing surface into a cursor trackpad. Lift your finger to return to the keys. Local correction is also available while typing.
TachyType is in private testing for iPhone. There is no public App Store download or public TestFlight invitation yet. This page introduces the product; the keyboard illustration accepts no input.
Built around the way you type. Still taking shape.
